Dietary Glycemic Index and Glycemic Load and Anxiety

Dietary patterns impact the risk of anxiety but less is known about which diet components are most helpful or harmful. Blood sugar levels seem to be relevant to anxiety symptoms and disorders. Blood sugar is impacted by the food we eat. The impact of food on blood sugar can be measured and is described using terms such as dietary glycemic index/load and dietary insulin index/load. This systematic review is looking for studies that measure these diet factors and anxiety to see if there is a connection. We are also curious to know whether it might be helpful to anxiety symptoms if a person changes their dietary patterns to have a less disruptive impact on blood sugar.
