This scoping review examines the full body of evidence—ranging from cell studies to human research—on the effects of Artemisia annua and Artemisia afra on fibrosis, a key process underlying many chronic diseases. The project aims to clarify whether compounds like artemisinin influence pathways involved in tissue scarring, inflammation, and extracellular matrix remodeling. By systematically mapping this literature, the review will identify potential therapeutic signals, as well as gaps needed to guide future translational and clinical research.
